Small in cuarto;

Contemporary calf over wooden boards; Leather spine, later but long ago, covered with vellum. Strong, clean paper. Ten or so leaves with brown spot. Unrestored example. Binding intact but in need of restoration. Lacks clasps.

The first printed edition of the rules of St Benedict is from 1489. Between the editions in all languages, this is number 39 and very rare. The last time it appeared at the market was in 1953.
